The University of Pennsylvania has earned the WorldatWork Work-Life Seal of Distinction for 2016. The seal, awarded by WorldatWork, a nonprofit HR association and compensation authority, is a unique mark of excellence designed to recognize leading organizations for their successful and innovative work life integration programs and policies. Penn is one of only 116 organizations and 13 universities in the United States and Canada to be honored with a seal this year.

On March 9, Seal of Distinction honorees were recognized at a celebration during the WorldatWork 2016 Future of Work Forum.

“On behalf of the University of Pennsylvania, Human Resources is significantly invested in quality work-life and wellness benefits for staff and faculty,” said Jack Heuer, vice president of human resources. “That’s why we are honored to receive the 2016 WorldatWork Work-Life Seal of Distinction. As we continue to promote and develop meaningful, practical work-life services and initiatives across campus, the seal reflects Penn’s commitment to supporting staff and faculty at work and at home."

The Seal of Distinction measures the overall strength of organizations’ work-life portfolio and success in creating positive work environments. Applicants are evaluated on work-life programs, policies and practices that meet the needs and challenges facing employees today, such as:
