Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice Launches Community Teamworks
PHILADELPHIA – At the University of Pennsylvania, the School of Social Policy & Practice’s Community Teamworks pilot program allows students, faculty, staff and alumni of the School to participate in team-building activities through local volunteer projects in West Philadelphia.
University of Pennsylvania Receives Highest Presidential Recognition for Community Service
WASHINGTON – The Corporation for National and Community Service and the U.S. Department of Education awarded the University of Pennsylvania with the Presidential Award in the 2012 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for its commitment to bettering the community through community service and service learning.

Penn adds sexual reassignment surgery coverage for employees
During Benefits Open Enrollment in April, Penn employees will have the option to choose a medical insurance plan that includes coverage for sexual reassignment surgery. Similar coverage has been available to students through the Penn Student Insurance Plan since 2010.

The unusually high temperatures have made it feel more like spring than winter in recent days. People who enjoy milder weather love it, but it’s causing some concern for gardeners, and plenty of confusion for some plants, which have bloomed several weeks earlier than usual.
