Penn thanks its faculty and staff with food and football

Penn Family Day, the University's version of a company picnic, will be Saturday, Oct. 17, starting at 11:30 a.m.

The event will begin with a picnic lunch, entertainment and activities, rain (in Hill House) or shine (on Hill Field), and work its way to the Penn vs. Columbia football game at 1:30 p.m. at Franklin Field.

The lunch includes grilled chicken or all-beef hot dogs, pasta salad, Caesar salad, dessert and beverages. The Glee Club, cheerleaders and the Marching Band will entertain; and activities for children will include face painting, a 25-foot inflated slide and a "Moon Bounce" play area.

Look for the brochure coming your way. But if you don't get it, tickets (for faculty and staff, both the lunch and the football game are free; for their families and friends, the lunch is free and the football game is $2 per person)

can be picked up at the Weightman Hall Ticket Office, 33rd between Walnut and Spruce streets, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For info, call 898-6151.
