Investigating Homelessness

The Department of English and Kelly Writers House present a conversation between author Jennifer Egan and Dennis Culhane of the School of Social Policy and Practice, who studies homelessness and assisted housing policy. They will discuss how social science research and investigative journalism can combine to consider what storytelling can be done to capture the present situation of homelessness.

Excellence in Graduate Teaching Reception

The vice provost for education and the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Innovation celebrate the Penn Prize for Excellence in Teaching by Graduate Students. The reception will honor the 10 winners in departments ranging from Anthropology to Neuroscience.

In her role as PADLS Resident Director, Lisa Murphy is responsible for oversight of all PADLS New Bolton Center laboratories: toxicology, mammalian pathology, poultry, and microbiology. She is also responsible for maintaining PADLS’ accreditation from the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD). Murphy can speak to PADLS’ avian flu monitoring program.
