Supporting the Schuylkill

Penn President Amy Gutmann joined city officials and local college leaders along Boathouse Row on Wednesday, May 1, to announce support to fund the dredging of the Schuylkill River.

Penn President Amy Gutmann joined city officials and local college leaders and athletes at Lloyd Hall along Boathouse Row on Wednesday, May 1, to announce support to fund the dredging of the Schuylkill River. Attendees alongside Gutmann included Mayor Jim Kenney, Drexel President John Fry, St. Joseph’s President Mark C. Reed, Temple President Richard Englert, and members of local crew teams.

Penn is pledging $750,000 toward the effort. The project is scheduled to begin later this summer.
