    The Penn Vet board of advisers, administrators, clinicians, and donors gathered on Feb. 7 to officially commence the construction of The Richard Lichter Advanced Dentistry and Oral Surgery Suite at Ryan Hospital, a clinic for comprehensive oral and restorative small animal patient care, clinical instruction, and clinical research.

    The associate professor of ruminant nutrition has received a $995,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to lead an interdisciplinary team of animal and data scientists to enhance dairy herd sustainability and moderate environmental impacts.

    The Martin and Pamela Winter Infectious Disease Fellowships will support Khabadire Tlotleng and Matthew Martinez, two early-career biomedical graduate students who are conducting research related to the biology of infectious disease.

  • Penn Vet parasitologist named Penn Presidential Professor

    Penn President Amy Gutmann has appointed De’Broski R. Herbert, in the Department of Pathobiology at the School of Veterinary Medicine as Presidential Term Associate Professor. Herbert is currently associate professor of immunology, and an active collaborator with faculty at Penn Medicine who concentrate on immunologic mechanisms of disease, as well as with faculty from the Institute for Immunology, the Penn Center for Pulmonary Biology, and the Penn Digestive Diseases Center.
