A new study in Health Affairs shows the average urgent care center (UCC) visit cost only $171 compared to $1,646 for a visit to an emergency department. However, the relative convenience of UCCs results in increased numbers of visits, which increases overall spending.

Richard Weller, professor and chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture and co-executive director of The Ian L. Caregivers across the country found themselves faced with new challenges. The Penn Memory Center began the Caregiver Forums in March 2020 in an attempt to provide caregivers a space where they could talk freely and share advice as they learned to navigate caring for their loved ones during the pandemic.
