Smart Talk: A fat tongue and its effect on sleep
Richard Schwab of the Perelman School of Medicine spoke about sleep disorders, the importance of sleep to health, and the role of tongue fat in sleep. “In patients with sleep apnea, instead of 25-28% of their tongue is fat, it’s more like 33 or 34% of their tongue is fat,” he said.
