On Wednesday, Jan. 20, classes resumed for the Spring 2021 semester, with many students safely back on campus. President Amy Gutmann celebrated the day with a video message to all students, urging them to take advantage of what will certainly be a challenging, exciting, and rewarding year ahead.
“Here’s to making the most of every minute we have together,” she said.
Gutmann expressed how much effort has been put forth by faculty and staff to ensure the semester is active, engaging, and above all—healthy—for everyone, and she thanked students for their commitment to doing their part to keep each other, and their community, safe.
She also discussed the game-changing researchers at Penn who have led the charge against COVID-19. Gutmann noted: “What happens here at Penn is as inspirational as it is essential—and you are all part of what makes Penn so inspirational.”
“Here’s to Penn in 2021,” Gutmann said.
