The Battle of Philadelphia

Villanova ranks in the Top 10 in the Division I-AA football poll and is positioning itself for a run at the national championship. Penn is coming off an Ivy League championship run in 2003 and is considered the favorite to win another in 2004. But after these cross-town rivals battle at Franklin Field on Sept. 25, only one team will walk away unscathed.

Villanova returns 16 starters from a team that went 7-4 in 2003, and has already posted impressive wins this season over Bucknell and Lehigh. Penn, meanwhile, will rely on All-Ivy wide receiver Dan Castles and All-Ivy tailback Sam Mathews to keep the Quaker offense moving.

On the line for Penn against the Wildcats is an impressive 19-game home winning streakóand, maybe just as importantly, hometown bragging rights.

Gametime is set for 7 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $25, and can be purchased by calling 215.898.6151 or by visiting www.pennathletics.com.
