In collaboration with the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Penn Museum presents flutist Emi Ferguson and harpist Ashley Jackson for a conversation and musical demonstration, moderated by Assyriologist Paul Delnero. The conversation will explore the role of the flute and harp in Sumerian culture.

Building Better Nutrition Together

The Perelman School of Medicine, the Community Grocer, and the Cobbs Creek community collaborate for this open dialogue about the challenges of improving health by having a healthier diet. The conversation will include results from a nutrition study conducted over the summer. Lunch is provided.

Honoring the Explorer

The Geographical Society of Philadelphia hosts its 130th Legacy Event honoring the Explorer of the Year, Leon McCarron, who has traveled over 30,000 miles all over the world by foot, bike, and boat. At Penn Museum, Leon shares the stories of his journey as a preview of his book, film, and multimedia site “Wounded Tigris: A River Journey Through the Cradle of Civilization,” which will be made public in 2023.
