Manuscript, Medium, Message
The Rare Book Department, Free Library of Philadelphia, and Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies partner for the 11th Annual Lawrence J. Schoenberg Symposium on Manuscript Studies in the Digital Age. The symposium kicks off with a Thursday lecture from Susie Nash, a professor at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and will continue on in the following days at the Kislak Center with speakers from Penn, the Paul Getty Museum, the University of Geneva, and elsewhere to discuss the history of manuscript illumination and where it's headed in the digital age.
