Excellence in Graduate Teaching Reception

Maggie Nelson

Scholar and poet Maggie Nelson reads. Nelson is the author of several poetry collections, including “The Argonauts,” which won a National Book Critics Circle Award in 2015. A conversation with her will follow on April 30 at 10 a.m.

Dr. Compton has studied opioid use and pain management for more than two decades. She can discuss misconceptions about this prescription drug epidemic, particularly that pain patients make up the majority of patients becoming addicted to opioids.
