Urgent care centers: Lower-cost than emergency departments, but they increase spending
A new study in Health Affairs shows the average urgent care center (UCC) visit cost only $171 compared to $1,646 for a visit to an emergency department. However, the relative convenience of UCCs results in increased numbers of visits, which increases overall spending.

The Penn Memory Center began the Caregiver Forums in March 2020 in an attempt to provide caregivers a space where they could talk freely and share advice as they learned to navigate caring for their loved ones during the pandemic.
