  • Penn’s Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology receives $8 million grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences

  • Penn to co-lead $6.5 million transatlantic grant to investigate cytoskeleton’s role in heart disease

    Benjamin L. Prosser will serve as the North American coordinator for a new, multi-institutional $6.5 million grant from the Leducq Foundation, aimed at better understanding the role the heart cell cytoskeleton plays in heart disease and finding new ways to treat it.

  • Four Penn students receive prestigious National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellowships

    Briana Nichols, Jessica Peng, Chelsea Chamberlain, and Peter Francis Harvey were awarded the honor for their dissertations, which present fresh and constructive perspectives to the history, theory, analysis, or practice of formal or informal education throughout the world.

  • Daris McInnis, Penn GSE doctoral student and Army vet, named a Tillman Scholar

    After teaching in schools and nonprofit literacy programs, and looking at new ways to serve marginalized communities, McInnis has been named a Tillman Scholar. He is the first Penn GSE student, and is believed to be the first Black Penn student, to receive the honor.

  • Grace Cho and Raymond Magsaysay selected for the Don H. Liu Scholars Program

    As part of their work with the nudge unit they have launched in South Africa, CHIBE associate directors Harsha Thirumurthy and Alison Buttenheim, and project managers Laura Schmucker and Noora Marcus have developed several resources that provide guidance to low-and middle-income country governments and communities as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
