  • For Health System patient care technicians, learning opportunities abound

    When a patient arrives for surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital, one of the first people they may meet is Darnell Mullins. As a patient care technician (PCT) in perianesthesia, he greets each patient in their room, answers any questions they may have about their procedure, and transports them from the pre-operative unit to the operating room. Ultimately, PCTs are some of the first health care professionals who set the expectations for a patient’s visit.

  • Riddhi Batra and Alex Cartwright win Poster Awards at the CM2 Summer Forum

    Cartwright received the Most Impactful Planning Project Award for his project, Cherry Island Wetland Park. Batra received the Most Innovative Research Project Award for her project, A Manifesto for Place. Both are students in Dean Steiner and Rebecca Popowsky's Megaregions Studio.

  • Wharton professors Jonah Berger and Katy Milkman win Sage’s 10-Year Impact Award

    Their research article “What Makes Online Content Viral?” was published in the Journal of Marketing Research. The awards are given to the authors that have received the most citations in the 10 years since than all other studies published in the same year.

    The assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering is a 2023 recipient of the ACS Nano Lectureship Award, and is awarded for his work in the field of solid-state optoelectronics and low-dimensional materials.

  • Diversity in the Stacks: The Open Access Pilot for Latin American Monographs

    This project provides universal free access to over 300 scholarly monographs published by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences. The pilot began by prioritizing the front list of newly published titles—CLACSO publishes approximately 100 books per year. Its third year will expand the publication, discoverability, and digital preservation of new titles.
