In a topping off ceremony last month, the final piece of structural steel was lifted into place and secured to complete the new connector between 3700 Walnut and Stiteler Hall. The $35.6-million project is scheduled for completion in fall 2023.

Penn engineers have created a moisture collection and removal devices utilizing the geometry of simple materials to collect atmospheric water without an external energy source, made up of three-dimensional pyramid structures. Collecting atmospheric water could help adapt to both severe dry spells and inundating amounts of precipitation by providing a source of freshwater or dehumidifying humid places.

Targeting early factors influencing these conditions after birth and during neonatal hospitalization for cardiac surgery remains a critical need. However, significant gaps remain in understanding the best practices to improve neurodevelopmental and psychosocial outcomes for these infants.
