  • Hope and relief for neurological symptoms of long COVID: The Penn Neuro COVID Clinic

    The Neuro COVID Clinic at Penn Medicine launched in April of 2021. It is the only one in the region that specifically addresses the neurological symptoms of long COVID; its four clinicians have evaluated over 300 patients, who have been confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19 and are at least two to three months in recovery.

  • Deeply Rooted Collaborative awards $51,000 in ‘Community Green Grants’

  • Telemedicine program CareConnect helps eliminate barriers for opioid use disorder treatment

    CareConnect is a partnership between Penn’s 24/7 virtual urgent care, Penn Medicine OnDemand, and a team of substance use navigators. Fifty-five percent of CareConnect’s patients with opioid use disorder had an active prescription for treatment a month after first engaging with the program.

  • ‘Organ-on-a-chip’ device provides new insights into early-stage pregnancy

    Researchers at the Biologically Inspired Engineering Systems (BIOLines) Laboratory in the Department of Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences have recently developed a new variation of the organ-on-a-chip: one that replicates the interface between maternal tissue and the cells of the placenta at the critical moments in early pregnancy when the embryo is implanting in the uterus.
