  • Oncology social work is the first program of its kind

    The Advanced Certificate in Oncology Social Work is a 12-month program, which includes monthly sessions taught at the Perelman School of Medicine, that trains social workers to specifically respond to cancer patients with guidance, advocacy, and support in coping with their diagnoses.

  • Chioma Woko named Robert Wood Johnson Foundation health policy research scholar

    Annenberg School for Communication doctoral student Chioma Woko has been named to its 2018 cohort of Health Policy Research Scholars for her work as a a health communication doctoral student studying health behaviors online. She is conducting research on what factors influence people in social networks to carry out health behaviors, such as physical activity, contraceptive use, and tobacco-related behaviors.

  • APPC postdoc Matt Motta honored with Elsevier Atlas award

    Postdoctoral fellow Matt Motta was honored with the Elsevier Atlas award for his article “Knowing less but presuming more: Dunning-Kruger effects and the endorsement of anti-vaccine policy attitudes,” published in August 2018 in the journal Social Science & Medicine.
