Out & About: Spring at the Arboretum
WHAT: Now that spring is here, be sure to take some time to explore the Morris Arboretum, located at 100 E. Northwestern Ave. in Chestnut Hill. Admission is free with a PennCard, $7 for youth, active military, and students; $14 for seniors; and $16 for adults.

It’s Mark Mills’ job to keep track of what is bought, to get the most for the University’s money, and to help his team at Penn Purchasing Services develop mutually beneficial relationships with local, regional, and global suppliers.

Leonore Annenberg Funds at Penn Bestow Nearly $2.7 Million in Grants for 10 Schools, 5 Students, 10 Artists
Philadelphia, PA –The Leonore Annenberg Scholarship and School Funds, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, announces the award of nearly $2.7 million to a combined total of 25 elementary schools, artists, and high school students.The funds will support an artist’s craft, a school’s needs for its students, and will pay the total cost of college for five deserving high school students.

Annenberg Public Policy Center at Penn Honors the 'Sesame Process' for Development of Children’s Media
PHILADELPHIA – Sesame Street, the long-running and award-winning children’s television program that airs on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), is the recipient of the 2012 Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC) Award for Excellence in Children and Media.The honor will be presented April 12 during a 6 p.m. reception at the APPC, 202 South 36th Street, Philadelphia. Rosemarie Truglio, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Education and Research at Sesame Workshop, will accept the award, along with some help from Sesame Street’s Elmo.

Penn and Haverford Sign Agreement to Fast-track Undergrads Into Penn Engineering Master’s Programs
PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania and Haverford College are launching a new program that will allow undergraduates at Haverford to gain early admission into a master’s degree program offered by Penn’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. The arrangement effectively allows Haverford students to obtain their bachelor’s degree in four years and then, through Penn, obtain their master’s degree with just one additional year of study.
