Despite Leadership, Maryland Higher Education Is Leaving Citizens Behind, Penn GSE Study Finds
PHILADELPHIA — Maryland’s higher education system is leaving poor, black and Hispanic residents behind, according to a new study from the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Higher Education Research, “Much Accomplished, Much at Stake: Performance and Policy in Maryland Higher Education.”

Penn Announces 2012-13 Financial-Aid Budget, Tuition
PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania today reaffirmed its commitment to an all-grant, no-loan financial-aid program as its Board of Trustees authorized a $181 million financial-aid budget for 2012-13 while increasing total undergraduate charges by 3.9 percent, the second lowest in 44 years.

The Legacy of Penn's Martin Meyerson
Penn President Martin Meyerson’s impact on campus is still being felt more than 30 years after his presidency. Meyerson led the University at a time when Penn was going through many major changes, including dealing with a huge budget deficit, making upgrades to the campus grounds and modifying academic programs to complete his goal of creating “One University.” Meyerson envisioned all Penn’s schools collaborating in teaching and research to benefit society.

Penn Science Cafe Presents Swarms of Flying Robots
On Tuesday, February 21, two members of Penn’s General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) Lab, part of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, will take part in the Penn Science Café, the free lecture series that for more than five years has taken science out of the lab for a night on the town.

Study Provides Road Map for Improved Care of Epilepsy Emergencies by Paramedics
Injecting epilepsy patients with medication via an autoinjector -- similar to the EpiPens used to treat serious allergic reactions -- works more quickly to stop seizures than delivery of a drug via IV on board ambulances, according to a national study published today in the New England Journal of Medicine.
