Eric Rabe to Join Penn’s Fels Institute of Government Research & Consulting as Senior Advisor
PHILADELPHIA –- Eric Rabe has been appointed a senior advisor to Fels Research & Consulting, the consulting practice for public-sector and non-profit organizations at the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania.

Penn Paleontologists Contribute to X-Ray Technique for Determining Pigmentation Patterns in Fossils
PHILADELPHIA — An international team including University of Pennsylvania paleontologists is unearthing the appearance of ancient animals by using the world’s most powerful X-rays. New research shows how trace metals in fossils can be used to determine the pigmentation patterns of creatures dead for more than a hundred million years.

Wharton | San Francisco Breaks Ground on New, Expanded Facility
SAN FRANCISCO-- The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania announced today that its Wharton | San Francisco campus will relocate to the historic Hills Plaza building on the San Francisco Embarcadero in January 2012, with construction on the new space commencing this month.

Two Penn Engineers to Attend Annual Frontiers of Engineering Symposium

Penn: Veterans Who Survive Suicide Attempt Have Heightened Mortality Risk of Future Suicide, Disease
An estimated 18 American military veterans take their own lives every day -- thousands each year -- and those numbers are steadily increasing. Even after weathering the stresses of military life and the terrors of combat, these soldiers find themselves overwhelmed by the transition back into civilian life. Many have already survived one suicide attempt, but never received the extra help and support they needed, with tragic results.

Penn unveils Lipman Family Prize for positive social impact

Fels Research & Consulting Group Recruits New Talent, Continuing Public-Service Legacy
PHILADELPHIA, PA – In an effort to better serve the public sector and enrich Fels students’ experience, the Fels Institute of Government Research & Consulting group has recently recruited an additional group of experienced professionals to improve the depth and capacity of the practice. A new Director and three Senior Advisors were brought on to enhance the group’s internal operations and provide expertise in critical public sector issue areas.

Campus cafés offer homey hospitality
There are plenty of places to find food and drink on and near campus, ranging from vending machines to food trucks, to the many restaurants situated in University City. But tucked away inside several University buildings there are also small, intimate cafés that offer diners charming spots to refuel, relax and recharge. The cafés sprinkled throughout campus are Penn’s version of neighborhood sandwich shops or corner stores.

Penn Alexander partnership extended through 2021
The partnership between Penn, the School District of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers that supports the successful and innovative Penn Alexander School in West Philadelphia has been extended through 2021. The University will continue to provide an annual contribution of $1,330 per child, as much as $700,000 a year and a range of other services.
