Penn named a Top Workplace in Philadelphia region
Penn has been ranked one of the Top Workplaces in the Philadelphia region by the Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News based on survey responses provided by Penn employees themselves. The positive feedback drove the University and its Health System to the No. 3 spot among large employers (more than 500 employees), according to the Top Workplaces 2010 survey.

Penn community walks all night to fight cancer
According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), more than a half million Americans died last year from cancer. They were mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, sisters and brothers, adults, adolescents and children. Because cancer never sleeps, a group of Penn cancer survivors and their supporters will stay up all night this Friday to fight back against the disease.

Virtual Driving Leads Penn Psychologists to the Cells That Sense Direction in the Brain: Path Cells
PHILADELPHIA – Psychologists led by the University of Pennsylvania have used implantable electrodes and a first-person driving game to identify the cells of the brain that indicate travel in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion, called “path cells.” The study will be published this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Penn Students Hold Fundraiser for Chile Earthquake Victims
WHO: Fundraiser to help Chilean earthquake relief effortsWHAT: Chilean buffet and “La Nana (The Maid)” film screening WHERE: Hall of Flags, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce St.WHEN: Friday, March 19Empanadas, sandwiches, pastries and soft drinks will be sold from 7- 7:45 p.m. The Chilean film, “La Nana (The Maid)” will be screened at 8 p.m. A donation of $5 for students and $10 for the general public is requested.

Penn students reach out to help Chile earthquake victims
When there’s a call for help after a natural disaster, Penn students respond quickly with their hearts, minds and wallets. After a 7.0 earthquake devastated portions of Haiti in January, students raised thousands of dollars through performing arts events, food drives and other benefits. Now, students are coming together again to help victims of Chile’s recent earthquake.
