Houston Hall
The country’s first student union, Houston Hall is the large, Gothic building in the Quad at 3417 Spruce St. Probably most famous for its Houston Market, which offers a smorgasbord of mouth-watering delights, the building also houses retail shops, the University’s information center and a number of lounges, offices and meeting places. Earthquake survivors treated in Philadelphia
The first Haitian residents flown to the United States for medical care are being treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, due to an enormous effort from a second-year medical student, a team of doctors and a nonprofit organization.

Free Clinic for Pets Last month, as part of the University-wide celebration of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, staff from Penn’s School of Veterinary Medicine hosted a free dog and cat vaccination clinic. Sixty Penn Vet volunteers administered vaccines free-of-charge to 185 animals, including 29 walk-ins.

Penn student a contestant on 'Jeopardy! College Championship'
Greg Johnson Answer: “This University of Pennsylvania freshman from Davie, Fla., appeared as a contestant during the Quarter Finals of the ‘Jeopardy! College Championship’ on Wednesday, Feb. 3.” If you asked, “Who is Robert Berg?” you are correct! A fan of the show and loyal viewer, Berg says he began the audition process before arriving at Penn. After completing an online test consisting of 50 random questions, he fared well enough to score a callback audition, which was held in Philadelphia in October.
