Dedication Wednesday for Wave Forms, City's Newest Public Art Gracing Domus Complex at Penn
WHAT: Dedication of Philadelphia's latest public art project, "Wave Forms," designed by New York artist Dennis Oppenheim. The work incorporates the 20,000-square-foot plaza and courtyard of the Domus residential complex, adjacent to the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, featuring lighting, hardscape and landscape in patterns of sound waves, as well as six aluminum and mesh bells, weighing a total of eight and a half tons, that will be eventually enveloped in foliage.

James Baker to Speak at Penn Commencement; Honorees Include Aretha Franklin, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Aaron Beck
PHILADELPHIA -- James A. Baker III, a co-chair of the Iraq Study Group who has served as secretary of state and secretary of the treasury, will deliver the address at the University of Pennsylvania's 251st Commencement on Monday, May 14, at Franklin Field, 33rd and South streets. The procession of graduates begins at 9 a.m.

University of Pennsylvania Adopts Windows Live @ edu to Deliver Communications Platform to Students
PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania has partnered with Microsoft to enhance the communications platform it offers to many of its students. Beginning in the fall semester, students in the School of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton School will have the option of using a customized version of Windows Live called Penn Live to access e-mail and a full suite of online communications services.

Food Network's 'Dinner Impossible' Episode Filmed at Penn Fraternity; Brothers Slice, Dice, Shop and Serve
PHILADELPHIA - An upcoming episode of "Dinner Impossible," the Food Network's version of a culinary "Mission: Impossible," will feature Psi Upsilon fraternity brothers from the University of Pennsylvania doing their part to create a feast for Penn President Amy Gutmann and guests.Scheduled to air at 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, the half-hour show will be rebroadcast at 1:30 a.m., Thursday, April 19; 4:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Sunday, April 22; and 2:30 a.m., Monday, April 23.

Statement on Citibank Loan Program
The University of Pennsylvania has agreed to modify one of its student loan programs, which is offered by Citibank, in response to a recent inquiry made to the University by the New York Attorney General. Penn will reimburse all participants who borrowed from the Penn CitiAssist program for fees paid by Citibank to the University. Penn had used these fees to provide financial-aid for its students. This student loan program is distinct from Penn's need-based undergraduate financial aid program and assists students who are not eligible for need-based financial aid.

Actor Kal Penn to Teach at the University of Pennsylvania
PHILADELPHIA - Kal Penn, star of the new film "The Namesake" and known for his role as Kumar in the movie "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle," will be a guest instructor at the University of Pennsylvania. He will teach two undergraduate courses in the spring semester of 2008 tentatively titled "Images of Asian Americans in the Media" and "Contemporary American Teen Films."

Penn Sets Tuition for 2007-2008 Academic Year
PHILADELPHIA -- Total undergraduate charges for tuition, fees and room and board at the University of Pennsylvania will increase 4.9 percent for the 2007-2008 academic year, bringing the total cost of an undergraduate year to $46,124. The increase was approved today by Penn's Board of Trustees.Tuition and fees for undergraduate students for the 2007-2008 academic year will increase 5.15 percent to $35,916; average room-and-board charges will increase 4.1 percent to $10,208.
