THE BASICS: Founded in 2007, Philadelphia Community Acupuncture (PCA) features low-cost acupuncture treatments in a peaceful, community-orientated setting. PCA is located on the third floor of the firehouse at 50th Street and Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia, above the Satellite Cafe, Firehouse Bicycles and the Dock Street Brewing Co.

Before the above-ground sport fields, trees and public spaces of Penn Park are installed and ready to use, crews are making vast improvements and preparations beneath the surface. Over the summer, workers began installing 1,200 concrete piles to support landforms on the 24-acre site. In addition, Penn is installing an innovative stormwater drainage system that will capture and reuse water—no small feat for a site bordered by railroad tracks, the Schuylkill Expressway and most recently, a series of surface parking lots.

The 2010 Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival is a movie showcase celebrating and elevating the Asian- American experience. Presented by HBO, the festival—the only Asian-American film gala in Philadelphia—features exciting and culturally relevant programming and events. The event runs from Thursday, Oct. 21, to Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Asian Arts Initiative, 1219 Vine St., and the Ibrahim Theater at the International House, 3701 Chestnut St.
