PHILADELPHIA-- Graduate students from the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government and a bipartisan team of analysts will examine Election Day voting irregularities at the polls with NBC News broadcasting reports on their analysis.

A toll-free national voter alert telephone line will allow voters around the country to quickly report voting problems to local election officials.

Voters will be able to call the Voter Alert Line at 866-MYVOTE1 and report irregularities at local polling places.  The alert will automatically patch callers to local election officials.

The analysts and graduate students will examine the volume and location of the calls and analyze the content of individual calls for insight into local, regional or nationwide voting problems.

The calls, which voters record in either English or Spanish, will include brief descriptions for NBC News of the problems the callers are facing.

NBC will broadcast televised reports of the students' and analysts' reviews of the calls from the Constitution Center in Philadelphia and from additional locations throughout the country.

The voter contact technology is managed by Infovoter Technologies, a bipartisan joint venture representing VoterLink Data Systems and Chesapeake Enterprises.
