"World Cafe" fans know that host David Dye will go anywhere to seek out fresh new music. But this week, he's taking a trip of a different kind (see Tuesday's listing) in between showcasing performers from Boston and Austin. Here's the complete rundown for the next two weeks:

  • Friday, Jan. 15 A special Boston Day featuring Geoff Muldaur and Peter Wolf

  • Monday, Jan. 18 Martin Sexton performs music from his latest album, "The American"

  • Tuesday, Jan. 19 A trip through four decades of psychedelia

  • Wednesday, Jan. 20 The Saw Doctors visit the studio

  • Thursday, Jan. 21 DJ Special: interviews with Talvin Singh and Josh Wink

  • Friday, Jan. 22 Duncan Shiek drops by Tongue & Groove Studios to perform songs from his new album, "Humming"

  • Monday, Jan. 25 An encore presentation of Gillian Welch's studio visit

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26 The Cafe goes Down Under to celebrate Australia Day

  • Wednesday, Jan. 27 Austin's David Garza drops by to perform work from his latest release, "This Euphoria"

    "The World Cafe", which is heard on more than 100 public radio stations nationwide, is produced by WXPN-FM (88.5) and airs locally from 2 to 7 p.m. weekdays. All live appearances air during the 3 to 4 p.m. hour.
