Like the rest of us this time of year, the folks at “The World Cafe” are caught up in the holiday frenzy, and had only enough time to give us a brief sampling of what’s coming up over the next month. But that sample is enough to show that it’s going to be a swingin’ season. Here’s what’s up for the next week or so; after that — well, tune in and find out.
Thursday, Dec. 2 Ethereal folk-popsters The Innocence Mission perform music from their new album “Birds of My Neighborhood”
Friday, Dec. 3 Matthew Sweet visits and performs music from his new album “In Reverse”
Monday, Dec. 6 An encore presentation of Buddy & Julie Miller’s studio visit
Tuesday, Dec. 7 Scotland’s Jackie Leven drops by the studio to perform music from his newest effort, “Night Lilies”

Thursday, Dec. 9 Bluegrass violinist Alison Krauss drops by with her band and plays music from her latest album, “Forget About It”
Friday, Dec. 10 The World Cafe visits with Sting in his dressing room at the Tower Theater
“The World Cafe”, which is heard on more than 100 public radio stations nationwide, is produced by WXPN-FM (88.5) and airs locally from 2 to 7 p.m. weekdays. All live appearances air between 3 and 4 p.m.
