A primer for tomorrow’s working women

The world of work is filled with opportunities of all kinds. And on Thursday, April 27, girls ages 9 to 15 can get a taste of some of those opportunities at Penn’s annual Take Our Daughters to Work Day.

The annual event, for staff and their young guests, features workshops and demonstrations on careers, workplace issues, nutrition, health and other useful things to know about work and life.

Many of the workshops, such as last year’s Engineering School bridge-building workshop shown here, feature hands-on activities. And campus dining facilities will offer special lunches and refreshments for visiting girls and their sponsors.

And the daughters get in free to the 106th Penn Relays with their sponsors’ PennCard.
Registration is required for all workshops. To register, and for more information, visit www.hr. upenn.edu/quality on the World Wide Web. Questions about Take Our Daughters to Work Day can be sent to rosenthal@hr.upenn.edu, or call Orna Rosenthal at 215-898-5116.
