Anthony Whittington has been named manager of administration and finance in the Division of Public Safety, Chief of Police Maureen Rush announced. Whittington, who was formerly a senior budget analyst for the Office of Budget and Management Analysis has worked at the University since 1986. He began in the Comptroller’s Office, quickly working his way up from file clerk to assistant supervisor. He then worked as an accountant for the Office of the Vice Provost for University Life, and then rose to associate director in the Treasurer’s Office.

William Danks was named deputy chief of the investigations in the Police Department March 12. He will also command the Records Department. Less than three years after joining the police in 1996 as senior investigator, he was promoted to detective supervisor. He has been acting deputy chief since December. Danks came to Penn’s Police Department after 24 years in the Philadelphia Police Department. Danks has a B.A. from Temple University in Criminal Justice.

Gerald Margolis, Ph.D., has been appointed as the deputy director of operations for the University of Pennsylvania Museum. Bringing a wealth of experience in museum administration, Margolis served as the executive director of the Liberty Museum, the World Religions Museum in Taiwan and founding director of the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. Most recently he served as director of development of Philadelphia’s Anti-Defamation League.

Suzanne Sheehan Becker (G’96,W’87) was named director of development of the University of Pennsylvania Museum. Becker returns to the University, having previously worked here in a number of development positions. She comes to the Museum after serving as director of the $150 million Annenberg Children Achieving Challenge Program and prior to that as CEO of Women’s Way, the oldest and largest women’s funding federation in the country.
