Sulzberger Middle School sixth-graders show Harris Wofford, president and CEO of the Corporation for National Service, some of the street trees that they are raising for planting in the community when they graduate.
The street-tree project, created in conjunction with Professor of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Anne Whiston Spirn's West Philadelphia Landscape Project, was one of several Sulzberger outdoor projects that Wofford visited. Wofford also sat in on a conflict-resolution workshop that began as a collaboration between Sulzberger and Penn students.
Wofford's visit to Sulzberger was part of his day-long visit to Philadelphia March 25 to tour service-learning projects at local public schools.
