As we mentioned in our last issue (“Upcoming,” Current, Jan. 16), Terry Adkins’ current Arthur Ross Gallery show, “Darkwater,” is billed as “a recital in four dominions”—sculpture, prints, documents and music.

Two of those dominions meet on Thursday, Feb. 6, when Washington-based performance artist Sherman Fleming joins the Lone Wolf Recital Corps for “Titan,” a musical/human-sculptural tribute to the life and work of W.E.B. DuBois at the Institute for Contemporary Art.

Fleming has spent more than two decades investigating body gesture as a form of sculpture through a series of performances titled “States of Suspense.” And if you’re curious about what forms Fleming’s performance will take this time, you will just have to remain in a state of suspense until Feb. 6.
