“West Philadelphia: Building a Community” Exhibition to Open at Penn’s Arthur Ross Gallery

 PHILADELPHIA — “West Philadelphia: Building a Community,” which opens at the University of Pennsylvania’s Arthur Ross Gallery on July 7, explores 19th-century architectural and urban development and features highlights of the community today.The exhibit includes watercolors by Scottish immigrant David J. Kennedy that depict area houses, institutions and streets in 1836-1898. Land maps, photographs and postcards also reveal the neighborhood during these years.

New tree exhibit set to open at Morris Arboretum

PHILADELPHIA — Researchers from the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing say having enough nurses to meet a national shortage is a “mathematical improbability” unless nursing schools admit more students through federal financial support in a potential bailout, according to an article in today’s issue of Health Affairs.
