Penn Annenberg Study: Americans Roundly Reject Tailored Political Advertising as Politicians Embrace it
A large majority of Americans are dead-set against the practice of tailored political advertising at the very time in the 2012 election that the activity is seeing unprecedented growth. In fact, a high percentage of Americans dislike tailored political advertising so much they say their likelihood of voting for a candidate they support would decrease if they find out the candidate engages in it.

Penn Annenberg Researchers Study Media’s Role and the Flow of Information in Iran
University of Pennsylvania researchers are helping to provide a snapshot of how Iranians access news and information and what technologies Iranians use to learn about current events under restrictive laws. In a groundbreaking report by the Annenberg School for Communication’s Iran Media Program, authors Magdalena Wojcieszak, Briar Smith and Mahmood Enayat reveal results of surveys showing how Iranians use digital media as well as television, radio and publications.

PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania has become the first university in Pennsylvania with access to the USC Shoah Foundation Institute’s entire Visual History Archive that contains nearly 52,000 video testimonies of survivors and other witnesses of the Holocaust in 32 languages and from 56 countries.

Leonore Annenberg Funds at Penn Bestow Nearly $2.7 Million in Grants for 10 Schools, 5 Students, 10 Artists
Philadelphia, PA –The Leonore Annenberg Scholarship and School Funds, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, announces the award of nearly $2.7 million to a combined total of 25 elementary schools, artists, and high school students.The funds will support an artist’s craft, a school’s needs for its students, and will pay the total cost of college for five deserving high school students.

Annenberg Public Policy Center at Penn Honors the 'Sesame Process' for Development of Children’s Media
PHILADELPHIA – Sesame Street, the long-running and award-winning children’s television program that airs on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), is the recipient of the 2012 Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC) Award for Excellence in Children and Media.The honor will be presented April 12 during a 6 p.m. reception at the APPC, 202 South 36th Street, Philadelphia. Rosemarie Truglio, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Education and Research at Sesame Workshop, will accept the award, along with some help from Sesame Street’s Elmo.
