Penn opens its 130th season of football this year, and the Quakers once again figure to be in the hunt for the Ivy League championship: According to the Ivy League preseason media poll, Penn is predicted to finish second in the League. Of course, that’s only a prediction, and the Quakers, led by tailback Joe Sandberg (pictured at left), expect nothing less than a League title. One of the season highlights will be homecoming weekend (Oct. 28-29), when Penn takes on defending Ivy champs Brown.

University of Pennsylvania Researchers Discover "Killer" B Cells; New Link in the Evolution of Immunity
PHILADELPHIA -- Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine have discovered a unique evolutionary link between the immune systems of fish and mammals in the form of a primitive version of B cells, white blood cells of the immune system.
