As the St. Petersburg G8 summit meetings approach, leaders of international non-governmental organizations working in Russia and Russian NGOs at Penn will gather to discuss Russia's restrictive new NGO law and human- rights record.
Topics will include "Russia and Human Rights," " Racism and Xenophobia" and "The New NGO Law and Its Consequences."
The symposium is sponsored by Penn's Office of the Provost, School of Arts and Sciences, International Relations Program, Political Science Department and History Department.
