Research at Penn Web Site Wins CASE Silver Medal

PHILADELPHIA  The Research at Penn Web site, developed to share research advances from the University of Pennsylvanias 4,300 faculty researchers, has been awarded a silver medal by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Research at Penn was selected from 154 Web sites nominated for the 2003 Circle of Excellence awards sponsored by CASE, an organization of professionals in academic alumni relations, communications and development. CASE evaluated Web sites nominated by colleges and universities nationwide on the basis of their strategy, content, design and navigation, usability, innovation, engineering and management and use of resources.

Research at Penn  http://www.upenn.edu/researchatpenn  launched in the fall of 2002, shares the knowledge generated by Penn faculty, highlighting the breadth of research activity across the Universitys 12 schools. Now comprising some 600 research news stories, the Research at Penn Web site is updated continuously with information gathered from across the University to chronicle advances in the areas of health, natural science, technology, society and business. A monthly e-mail newsletter brings Penns latest research findings directly to subscribers inboxes.
