Silent Auction to Help University of Pennsylvania Artists

WHO: MFA second-year candidates from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Fine Arts.

WHAT: Benefit Silent Auction of works on paper by the Penn MFA Class of 2002

WHEN: Nov. 21, 7-10 p.m.

WHERE: Meyerson Gallery, 210 S. 34th St., Philadelphia

The University of Pennsylvania Master of Fine Arts 2002 Benefit Auction of works on paper will take place Nov. 21st in the Meyerson Gallery. Original artwork will be for sale, and the proceeds will go toward the MFA Class of 2002 thesis fund. More than 50 art works will be available for purchase with some starting at an estimated value of $50. In addition to artwork, tickets to the Walnut Theatre and professional services from Philadelphia-area businesses will be auctioned.

The work of these artists represents many directions in contemporary art.

There will be a preview from 3 to 5 p.m. for Penn faculty and staff, and absentee bids will be accepted. The auction officially runs from 7 to 8 p.m. with a cocktail party featuring live music until 10 p.m. The exhibition and benefit auction are open to the public.
