United they stand
A program that united eight Jewish and eight African-American Penn students to learn about each others' history and culture won an award at the 1998 Shusterman Hillel International Professional Staff Conference in Princeton, N.J. Receiving the Haber Award for Penn's Alliance and Understanding project were representatives of the three campus groups behind the project - (from left) Jeremy Brochin, director of Penn Hillel, Afi Roberson, staff assistant of the African American Resource Center, and (far right) Karlene Burrell, associate director of the Greenfield Intercultural Center.
