Bring your daughter April 22
The annual Take Our Daughters to Work Day offers girls and their parents a chance to explore the world of work together. And this year, Penn's Division of Human Resources has lined up a series of events that allow young women to explore fields of work far beyond those of Mom and Dad. These special events include:
- A discussion of careers in law enforcement, public safety and security with women in Penn's Public Safety Division;
- A bridge-building workshop sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers;
- A talk on strategies for career success in the next century, by Career Services Director Patricia Rose;
- A discussion of careers in science, medicine and health care, with Microbiology Professor Helen Davies;
- A tour of Penn's public radio station, WXPN;
- An open forum with YM magazine's "Dr. Debbie," Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Deborah Driscoll, and
- A tour of the University of Pennsylvania Museum and a presentation on careers in the museum field.
Other events include a special Faculty Club lunch and panels on health, character and mentoring.
