It was such a hit last summer, the Morris Arboretum brought it back, bigger and better.

And again this summer, the Arboretum’s Garden Railway has been delighting young and old alike — as in this picture, where Garden Railway volunteer Earl Snyder points out some of the exhibit’s details to a couple of young visitors. And there’s still time to catch the magic: The exhibit runs through Sept. 19.

The G-scale trains of the Garden Railway work their way through a landscape of twigs, trees, bark and moss — the same materials used to build the replicas of some of Philadelphia’s best-known historic structures that dot the exhibit. Among this year’s additions: a model of the University of Pennsylvania Boat House, built in 1873 on historic Boathouse Row.
