We are family

Rain or shine, everyone’s sure to have a great time at the seventh annual Penn Family Day on Saturday, Oct. 9.

The event is one of the ways the University says “thank you” to the people who make Penn what it is. On Family Day, Penn faculty and staff receive free admission to the Quaker football game against Fordham at Franklin Field, and family and friends get in for a mere $2.

But that’s not the only thing going on. Before the game, you and yours are invited to a free picnic on Hill Field featuring grilled chicken, hot dogs, salads, desserts and soft drinks, plus entertainment from the Penn Glee Club, Penn Band and Penn Cheerleaders. There’s also face painting, an inflatable moonwalk, slides, cliffhanger and clown for the kids.

And if you’re not interested in watching Penn take on Fordham, you can visit Ancient Egypt instead. From 1:30 to 3:30, the University of Pennsylvania Museum will offer special Egypt-themed activities and games, plus tours of its gallery of Egyptian mummies, for the entire family -- and it’s also all free.
