Faculty and staff (plus 3) can attend Penn home football games for free

During the Penn football team’s home and season opener against Lafayette, senior defensive back Jonathan Saelinger picked off three passes –- one shy of the 70-year-old school record for a game –- the third of which set up the game-winning drive.

The Quaker defense, ranked No. 1 in the nation last season, continued to stifle opposing offenses, extending their streak to nine consecutive quarters without giving up a touchdown. (Lafayette’s points came off a blocked punt and pick-six).

Penn faculty and staff could have listened to the defending Ivy League champions on the radio at NewsTalk 990 WNTP AM or 560 WFIL AM. They could have watched the game online at the Penn Sports Network on PennAthletics.com or ESPN3.com. Or they could have experienced the excitement first-hand at historic Franklin Field, for free.

Penn Athletics offers faculty and staff with a PennCard free admission to home football games, and also allows them to bring three guests for free. To get free admission, staff and faculty need only show their PennCards at the entrance gate at Franklin Field.

Guest tickets can be reserved online at www.pennathletics.com, using the promotional code: FBALLSTAFF.

Remaining Quaker home games are Dartmouth on Oct. 2; Columbia on Oct. 16 during Penn Family Weekend; Brown on Oct. 30 for Homecoming, and Harvard on Nov. 13. For starting times and other information, visit www.pennathletics.com.

On Saturday, Sept. 25, the Quakers will travel to Villanova to take on the No. 1 ranked Wildcats in the Schuylkill Showdown on the Main Line. Since the inception of FCS rankings in 1978, Penn has never played a team ranked No. 1 in The Sports Network’s Top 25.
