Five Penn sports teams ranked or tied for first

Fans of Quaker athletics have plenty to celebrate this fall, with five of Penn’s teams approaching Homecoming weekend at or tied for first place.

As the defending Ivy League champion, the Penn football team is tied for first place with Brown. Both teams have gone unbeaten this season in Ivy play. The Quakers meet the Bears at Franklin Field for Penn’s Homecoming Game on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 1:30 p.m.

Penn’s sprint football team is dominating the Collegiate Sprint Football League, remaining undefeated after a 17-12 win against Cornell last week. The team meets Army at Franklin Field on Friday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. The team will conclude its season a week later in a game against Princeton, also at Franklin Field.

Women’s soccer is tied with Columbia for first place in the Ivy League. The team will host Brown on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 5 p.m. at Rhodes Field.

The men’s soccer team is tied with Princeton for first place. On Saturday, Oct. 30, the team faces Brown, a team that has experienced only one loss this season. That game will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Rhodes Field.

Penn’s volleyball team is also a defending champion squad. As of this week the team is tied at the top of the standings with Princeton.
