Rowan University is preparing to take the first steps toward creating a medical school campus in Atlantic City, extending the footprint of its growing medical programs and potentially tapping a new student base there. Rowan trustees are set to vote Wednesday on a feasibility study to explore an Atlantic City partnership between the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and AtlantiCare.

Billion-Dollar Targets
Wealthy universities’ endowments are once again in the crosshairs on Capitol Hill. Amid double-digit investment returns and growing public anxiety about student debt and the price of college, members of Congress are reviving their scrutiny of the nation’s richest colleges, an issue that largely was put on hold after the financial crisis in 2008. Earlier this week two congressional committees sent letters to several dozen colleges and universities, seeking a wide range of information about how they manage their endowments and spend endowment funds.

Cornell’s Plan to Merge Hotel School Gets an Icy Reception
They call themselves “hotelies”: students and alumni of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, the world’s oldest undergraduate program devoted to the hospitality industry and, many say, the best. The school is considered the Harvard of hospitality programs, consistently topping best-of lists and rankings. Its graduates, school officials like to say, do not just run individual hotels, they own entire hotel chains or groups of restaurants.
