Elizabeth Jelin is senior researcher at the National Council of Scientific Research in Argentina, director of the graduate program in the social sciences at the Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento - IDES in Buenos Aires and professor in the graduate school of the faculty of law at the Universidad de Buenos Aires.  

She is the author of "State Repression and the Labors of Memory" (2003) and editor of "Memories of Repression."
