Penn Hosts Feast of Fools Festival April 1

WHAT:"Feast of Fools-Penn Student Performing Arts Festival"

WHEN: Thursday, April 1, noon-5: 30 p.m.

WHERE:  Penn Commons and College Green on the University of Pennsylvania campus

A mystery King and Queen of Folly will open the madcap festivities at noon, accompanied by Philadelphia Mummers and student jugglers, dancers and musicians.  

The afternoon's events will include stand-up comedy, skits, magic, bad poetry, booths promoting fake causes, food, games and prizes.  Sponsored by the Penn Humanities Forum, the Feast of Fools will feature nine Penn student performance groups.  Penn faculty members will be on hand giving one-minute lectures on the fool, the trickster and the vulgarian.  

Award-winning teacher and master magician Larry Hass will close the festival with a performance talk on the pleasures of magic and foolery at 4:30 p.m.
