If you want to add a unique touch to your garden, don't miss the Morris Arboretum's annual Plant Sale. The public event on Saturday, May 7 features rare and unusual plants for purchase. Horticultural experts will also be on hand to offer growing tips on some of the items for sale. The event takes place at Bloomfield Farm, across the street from the main entrance of the Arboretum.

Penn Relays
WHAT: The Penn Relays, now in its 117th year, is the oldest collegiate track meet in the United States. Officially known as the Penn Relay Carnival, the event attracts more than 22,000 track and field stars from the junior high school, high school, college, senior and professional levels. Athletes from more than 60 countries will be participating in the three-day event.

Q&A with Dau Jok
For College freshman Dau Jok, violence used to be a way of life. In his native Southern Sudan, it was the way conflicts were resolved. After the brutal murder of his father, when Jok was just 6 years old, his first response was to pick up an AK-47 to avenge his father’s death. When Jok first arrived in the United States at age 11, it was how he wanted to react to the kids who teased him because his English was poor. And when he learned that his paternal grandfather was killed about a year ago after more violence in Southern Sudan, Jok got angry again.

Over the last half-decade, 20,000 stray or lost cats a year have been seen by the Animal Care and Control Team (ACCT) associated with the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Operations Center at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. in North Philadelphia. About one-third of these cats have entered the center having an owner and the remaining two-thirds come in as strays.

Penn Engineering to Host National Academy of Engineering Regional Meeting and Symposium April 26

The event will be held in the Wu and Chen Auditorium of Levine Hall located at 3330 Walnut St. on Penn’s campus.
