Almost a Quarter of Reported Sexual Assaults at Colleges Don’t Get Hearings

Colleges don’t have a reputation for handling sexual assault cases well. Many blame the ineptitude, or even sexism, of school administrators tasked with handling such cases, in part because of horror stories like these. But the reality may be more complex. In many cases when colleges fail to investigate a student’s sexual assault complaint, it’s because of circumstances outside their control, a new report finds.
